Shoot at the Marks and I.L.A.A. Championship at Speed
At the Honourable Artillery Company

The Honourable Artillery Company, the Corporation of the City of London, the Church of England and the City Police have graciously allowed the Fraternity of Saint George to organize a March of the Archers along the route used in the 16th and 17th Centuries. Preceded by a Service of thanks-giving and followed by two shooting contests, the Shoot is by kind permission of the Honourable Artillery Company’s Court of Assistants and its Chief Executive.
The Artillery Garden is the last part of the former Finsbury Fields; hallowed ground for the longbow archer.
The opportunity to March the route the Archers took Centuries ago and shoot at the H.A.C. is a once in a lifetime event. The Shoot is open to all but by pre-registration. A strict dress-code applies.

The event will raise money for the Armed Services Charities of Britain and France.

The longbow Field Championship is part of a week-end of archery which includes a shoot at the Marks on Saturday PM.

The British Longbow Society imposes new limitations (13-10-2008)
Strictly Target, Clout and light Victorian bows. Members strictly by recommendation.

No longer insured
1) Shooting at the Marks (Roving)
2) Flight Shooting
3) Speed Shooting
4) The Standard Arrow
5) Longbows over 70 lbs and non Victorian bows under 70 lbs

New members limitation
1) New members need two recommendations from existing BL-BS members
2) Can only shoot a light longbow
The BL-BS resolutions are as follows;
“the Society will concentrate its activities on those forms of archery which the BL-BS was formed to try to preserve. Our Society insurance was due for renewal this month (Sept) and of this week (13 Oct 2008), the BL-BS insurance will not cover Roving Marks, Flight, or Standard Arrow Shooting”. . .

“The Committee has decided to change the membership application form for new members, by having a proposer and seconder for any new member “ . .

This is a material reduction in members benefits, in members traditions of shooting and in members longbows to shoot with.

Dostal jsem pozvání na turnaj v Batsfordu pořádaný ETAS, jmenovitě Stevem Strattonem v květnu. Turnaj je omezen počtem 100 střelců a kategorie jsou v podtatě jako PB-HB s drobnými odchylkami. Jestli má někdo zájem, nechť se ozve na:
